My Greatest Inspiration

My mother is what keeps me going day in and day out. My mother has got to be one of the strongest women I’ve ever known. My father left her with nothing when I was an infant, after which she got suckered into a terribly abusive marriage with another man. She knew she had to get out, or he would kill us both. She took me, and what clothes she could carry, and we ran. She managed to rebuild our lives, send me to the best schools, and provide for me in every way I needed, no matter what. I never wanted for anything. I hope one day to be half the woman she is.
